MICRODOSING

For the past five years, I have been expanding my consciousness with the support of plant medicines, particularly Mama Gaia’s psilocybin to support personal growth, my healing journey, and emotional balance. From deep inner journeys to utilizing low doses for emotional release and regulation, microdosing is a modality I continue to come back to year after year. 


Microdosing is the ingestion of sub-perceptual doses (5-10% of a typical dose) of psychedelic substances. Unlike higher doses that produce significant alterations in consciousness, microdosing promotes subtle, often imperceptible shifts that enhance cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being without the intense hallucinogenic effects.


The Benefits of Microdosing:
Microdosing has been shown to offer a wide range of benefits, with anecdotal reports dating back to 2010 indicating improved mood, boosted creativity, enhanced focus, and increased energy levels. Many individuals who microdose report a better sense of emotional regulation, increased clarity, and a more grounded sense of self. The benefits of this practice are deeply linked to the serotonergic system, which regulates various aspects of our experience—mood, appetite, cognition, memory, and sleep. Psilocybin binds to specific serotonin receptors in the brain, particularly the 5-HT2A receptor, which plays a key role in mood, cognition, and perception. This connection supports emotional balance and mental clarity.
